Gurudev ,
There s a difference b/w adevertising and information gathering - one is solicited , searched and the other is unsolicited , unwanted .... I thought you d understand ..........
Advertising is free pushing of information w/o any one asking for it ....... sign boards , classifieds that you see all over ........... Whereas recommendations are asked for or shared due to good / bad experience . Period .
If you don't have anything to add to this thread , please bring your comments offline and we can pm each other ....
Thanks and no offense taken ... for sure ....

Hi ,
Upon keeping with the objective of this thread , I add some information I received from a friend ....
Contact number of my lawyer. Jonathon Griffiths 4164411253. He is reasonable.
Contact number of home inspector. Pillar to Post 416 749 7678
I haven't tried them so can't advise personally but certainly worth checking out ...

A realtor recommended on this CD thread http://canadiandesi.com/read.php?TID=24645
I intend to compile all information on this thread so that new people have all information under one thread and we can perhaps make it sticky ....
CD s - please contribute contacts of realtors / home inspectors / lawyers with whom you ve had good / bad experience ....

We are on the look out for a 2 bedroom townhome in Mississauga. We do have an agent, however he has missed out on showing us two good listings that came up on mls and we thought they were really good one's in all respects. By the time we brought this to his notice, the house was already sold. We have been working with him for a month and a half. Moreso we wonder why we've never been shown homes on the weekends, when we feel we shud be busy seeing homes on these days.
Is this something that's normal in the home buying process, or should we look to change the agent?
Your suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Discount realtor brings savings model to Calgary

“The concept is very much a full-service realty company. We’re very much engaged in the entire selling process from start to finish,” said Almog. “Our rate of commission is two per cent of the total selling price. . . . No extra charges. No additional fees.”
Almog said his concept can save a seller 50 to 60 per cent compared with commissions that charge seven per cent on the first $100,000 and three per cent on the balance. For a $400,000 home, that can mean an $8,000 saving for the seller.
Low commissions are nothing new in the local industry, said Bonnie Wegerich, president of the Calgary Real Estate Board.
