Hi everybody,

I happened to stumble across this site yesterday just by accident and am already thanking my stars that I did. I went thro' many posts and found them to be really helpful. Please keep up the good work.

I have already applied for immigration a year back and frankly I do not know how much time more it will take for the complete process.

I am Diploma holder working as a Production Mgr in a small sheet metal fabrication firm and my wife is a regular house-wife. I am blessed with 2 great kids-both girls-aged 10 and 15. By the way I know some broken French too.

I had some queries which I thought might receive some helpful answers.....

1. According to my own independent research and some feedback from my uncle, I found out that Toronto or GTA is very satuarated and jobs are hard to get by. Then I came across Winnipeg in Manitoba. I did some net-surfing and found it to be a favourable option and I am practically sold on the idea but still I would like an opinion from this forum.

2. I am planning to immigrate with my family and would like to know what type of apartment I would have to rent and the approx. cost (Is this true?----I heard that there is a law in renting apartments. If I have a wife and 2 kid girls then I have to go in for a 2BHK aptt. and if one of my kids were to be a boy then I would have to rent a 3BHK)

3. What would be the total monthly expenses that I would incur for my size of family if I spend conservatively?

I would appreciate a reply to these queries. Please bear with me even if my questions seem foolish but you all might be well aware of the inherent fear of uprooting oneself from one's own home country and relocating in an entirely strange land with strange people and their lifestyles.
