just looking for best option for mobile /cell ... which is the best option....

How about Koodo......

I want one for my wife and one for myself to call back home india and use the same for job search etc...... please suggest.

please do not sign any long term contract. take pay as you go.
secondly take one mobile now and one landline unlimited calls within canada($20) and take things slowly. My sincere advise will be go for mobile after you get job. till then manage with landline.

If you really do not wish to get into clashes because of bills on mobile then use skype. ($2.95 call 24 hours on landline and mobile anywhere in canada and USA)

magicjack is US related and you will have US tel. no. and caller will be charged on International level. Magicjack is where you have to get their instrument $ 40 and then you can download and you should get phone and they will give you your tel No. and I think first year is free and second year you have to pay $ 40 per year. You can even send this instrument to India and they can call you.

There is so may company provide long distance ( Phone Card)

i dont use them because i dont like dialing thier PIN first then my number..

i chose STARTEC - they are not cheapest but i dont have to worry about PIN or access code.

i dont know if there is any other company available. - but if there is then i would like to know them

I would suggest taking mobile connection first because initially you will be on the move and with a mobile you can always be contacted.

Better to have a connection with caller ID and voice mail. This way even if you couldn't attend a call the caller can leave a message and even if there is no message, you will be able to call back.

It is better to go for pay as you go.

You can go for a land line once you are a bit settled (after finding a place to stay for a longer term).
