Me and wife joined fitness club in Summer June 2009 for one year contract. At the time of signing up paper I informed that my wife ll go in nov back home for 4 months they said we ll block her for 4 months.
But this time they said they will charge you every month and you ll be given 4 months free.
Is there any possibility of cancelling their agreement. I ve authrorized my credit card to charge on bi-weekly basis. Can anybody help how to get rid of this agreement. I still have 7 months left.
You cannot cancel the agreement. You get 10 days cooling off period but now you are well past that.
Talk to them if there are any options. Even if they allowed someone to take over your agreement you have to find the person to do that, pay the transfer of membership fee, etc.
They will threaten to report to credit agencies if you do not pay. There is very old thread on that on this forum. Will try finding that.

What will happen if I cancell my credit card ?
They can put penalty and send it to collection agency (though it varies from company to company). Companies like Rogers will send even $50 outstanding bill to collection agencies.

Also, canceling credit card does not automatically stop posting pre-authorized payments.
A lot of credit card issuers will accept pre-authorized charges and send you the bill.
It is the responsibility of the card holder to cancel or change all pre-authorizations before canceling the card.

Dos this mean that now they will charge you, but at the end they'll tag on 4 months free membership. If so, can they give it in writing. If you get it in writing, do you see any problem
