Where I disagree :
1. Sikhs are part of Hindus. - wrong - Distinct life style, culture, temples, god. Hindus worship Idol - sikhs worship - Guru Grantsahib, Hindus killed more than 5000 sikhs in 1984, had they been part of hindus they would not have killed. Ask any sikh if he is hindu- answer will be no.

I agree this topic is a very controversial one but I just wanted to clarify something you wrote above.
Sikhs worship God, not the Guru GranthSahib. That is a holy book but the belief is ultimately in one God. : Sikhs believe in one GOD AND Guru Granthsahib is there Guru. No Guru no Gatya in Sikhs. You are free to say sikhs do not worship Guru Granth Sahib but that is not correct. Gods teachings are there in Guru Granth Sahib and we pray it like anything. Like Muslims pray Quoran - even though Allaha do not reside in qoran, but his teachings are there. I dont think Christ is in Bible but his teachings are there.
People who genuinely understand the meaning of being a sikh will never tell you that they are not a hindu. --- dont agree, sikhs are not hindus. Ask any Hindu if sikhs are hindus ???.
Guru Nanak is the founder of the faith and he stated 'There is one god (ek onkar)' in response to all the strife and fanaticm happening during that era. He respected all faiths and himself came from a Hindu family. His goal was to promote equality between all people.- correct
Over time people have spun their own interpretations of things, to suit their own ends. - things were done for better only.
Imate1: politics and greed killed those people in 1984, not anyone's faith. - can say Hindu politicians and Hindus
Im a sikh and im married to a hindu. I have studied my faith for years and came to the conclusion that its more important to live my life based on the principles set out by Guru Nanak than to follow a specific lifestyle. -- your wish
