MUMBAI: Maharashtra's minorities commission on Saturday called for the arrest of Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy for his "extreme xenophobic right-wing thoughts" expressed in a newspaper article.

State Minorities Commission vice chairman Abraham Mathai wrote to Mumbai police chief Arup Patnaik, urging him to initiate criminal charges against Swamy under Section 153 (A) of the Indian Penal Code.

"I am writing to you following uproar and a feeling of insecurity among the minority community caused by an article written by Dr. Subramanian Swamy entitled 'How to wipe out Islamic terror' published in the DNA of 16th July 2011," the letter said.

Swamy, a doctorate from Harvard, penned an op-ed that advocated denial of voting rights to non-Hindus with the goal of stemming terrorist attacks in India.

"The extreme xenophobic right-wing thoughts expressed in it are quite disturbing and the article is socially irresponsible and completely anti-Islamic. It is also alarming that Dr Swamy is trying to incite Islamophobia using his freedom of expression to propagate hate through stereotyping," Mathai said.

Mathai also said that there are "Hindu terrorists" as well in jails who have equally perpetrated heinous acts.

"As a matter of fact, the Muslim community has as much stake as any in the progress, security and well being of India as a nation. Dr Swamy's bizarre solution is converting Muslims into Hinduism, rather than allowing each individual to choose to live as he/she wishes as expressed in Article 25 of the constitution," he said.

Very interesting Thread !.

Returned fresh from India after a 4 week vacation.

Got to see length and breadth of India, travelled on forms of transportation, got to interact with people of various economic/social strata.

My FINAL understanding of the issue after spending a few years posting heated debates upon India on religion and various issues. in our very own Canadian Desi are as follows:

1.No Hindu cares about his religion or has any feeling towards their country unlike few NRI's sitting a few thousand kilometers away.

2.The Hindu's think about India only when they play Pakistan in cricket other than that they have NO notion about the country called India.

3.The Hindu's are focussed on economic growth, getting better jobs, buying bigger homes and better cars.

4.The southern states of India including Tamilnadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh have MASSIVE conversions going on from Evangelical Christians and the conversions into muslim population is quite limited and to certain locations only. The Christian Evangelical Hold is massive and the reflection can be seen in the results of the 2011 Caste based Census held in India.

5.The strategy adopted by the evangelicals are that they are making the church look like an India temple and also modifying the content and looks of the bible to look the hindu way.

MY FINAL VERDICT IS THAT THE BATTLE HAS BEEN LOST.

This is very clearly reflected by the attitude of the Congress(I) which has understood the general lack of interest by the hindus but the gross block voting tendencies of Christians and Muslims.

Even after the trillion dollar scams nothing has happened to the leadership of the Congress(I) while a guy who made about 0.5Billion USD YEDDY was forced out.

Even on my interaction within BJP in Bangaluru I found that the problem of BJP is that they are not able to get the hindu vote together because in Karnataka it is a game between Gowdas and the Lingayats. Even they realize that massive conversion happening and which will lead to consolidation of vote bank against it.

My humble request to all those strong hindutva guys LIKE ME, who were very vocal like me before is NOT to waste time on a LOST cause.

I can challenge you to call your family back home and ask they about issues and they will say that they do not care.

I just realized that a highly educated and highly positioned MNC executive who incidentally is my brother does not know or have time to worry about the religious issues or India's future but is more focussed on getting the profits up for his American owners.

My own mother recently called up a Christian prayer service asking them to pray for her knee pain and sent them money also.

The future of India is very dependant on the 0.5 BILLION Dalits in India. They have been neglected by the mainstream hinduism. They are going in droves towards Christianity in 2011. They WILL decide the future of India and not the few million hindus sitting in a few states like Gujarat, Karnataka or even Tamilnadu OR a few million NRI's sitting in rich foreign countries and pouring their hearts over internet. The reason I'm saying is that I saw foreign students from USA/Europe building homes destroyed by fire for poor Dalit converted Christians under church supervision on the outskirts of Tuticorin.

I saw with my own eyes Islamic preachers from countries like Qatar, Kuwait and even Pakistan in outskirts of Tirunelveli addressing the muslim population and transmitted on live TV.

In Tamilnadu there are atleast 20 channels who transmit Christian and Islamic programs and how many HINDU channels we have ?.

There are only 2 known channels and those are AASTHA and Sankara Channel in Southern India.

When my own family in India does not care why am I drumming up issues in Canadian Desi ?.

This is my humble opinion.

The future of India is in the hands of Christians and Muslims who again have converted from Hinduism.

They have more affliation to their religion than their country.

Already a trouble struggle has started within these two religious groups in Southern Indian state of Kerala.


Hence I strongly feel that the hindus who have been humble spectators since thousands of years with terms of "Athiti Devo Bhava" will remain spectator to this in coming years.

India is a key play ground for the power politics of USA and it will be played hard in coming times with China already put its strong fences around India.

When the Christianity from evangelicals; Islam from the Middle -East and communism through Dalit - Maoists from China will be the issue to be fought on the play ground of India where is the future for the hindus in India?.

In reference to the European Mass Murderers 1800 page report he has already referred to the Worlds Worst Genocide held on the Hindu-Kush mountains of Afghanistan where Hindus were killed a long time ago.

This has been erased from the Indian textbooks.

Let us forget the hindu cause or the future of the religion because I suspect by the time we make up our mind our own relatives would have converted in India.

The real villain is the Congress. Indian Muslims also face more serious problems like poverty, unemployment etc and more acutely. Generally, Indian Muslims are considered to be more religious, their women very conservative and majority of them still cherish the joint family system in spite of poverty. Because of the distrust created about them, thanks to the Congress party's appeasement politics, they are discriminated in education, employment etc. The Congress party trivialize muslims intentions. Muslims in India do not mind and may even want swift and severe punishment for those indulging in serious crimes, especially of terrorists, whatever religion they belong. But the Congress sows seeds of misunderstanding by delaying executions of terrorists. As if, it is the Indian Muslim who do not want these executions and Congress will be their only protector.
