Yesterday I had gone to a SAP institute and they told me that they have not seen a single case of HRDC funding after Nov 2009.This is a pretty good institute. The informed us that HRDC approval comes about 3.5 months from the time you submit your Second Career application. The HRDC funding process starts only after the first EI payment is received by the benefeciary. They also feel the government is not funding applicants who are quailfied eg consultants who already hold degrees and who have good experience.
Is there a system / matrix that can qualify an applicant for HRDC funding.
Please advise the process & timelines for HRDC funding in similar cases.
Thanks.

I know someone on EI who applied for 2nd career in Oct or Nov 2009 and her application has still not been processed.
From what she was saying they have started a points system which decides if u should get funding for 2nd career. As per the pts system if u have better qualification , it is less likely u will get funded..
Last year when the times were bad all applications were getting approved quickly.. now i think the screws have been tightened..
