Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a canadian citizen and my wife's brother is studying in Vancouver, Canada under a Student Visa. He is 27. He is studying in Kingston College, which is not public funded college. He has completed his Masters in Computer Science and he got 5 month visa extension for writing thesis.
I am wondering what options he has to get the permanent residence status in Canada.
Q1. Is there is an easy way to get work permit?
Q2. Can he get married and sponsor his wife after getting work permit?
Q3. Is getting work permit by doing six month nanny course is feasible?
Q4. Is there a better solution for getting PR status after completing studies under Student Visa?
I appreciate any help in advance.
Thanks.
Mr. Amar

I am sorry, but I don't think so. Family class sponsorship is described as follows from the CIC website:
You can sponsor relatives or family members from abroad if they are:
-spouses, common-law or conjugal partners 16 years of age or older;
-parents and grandparents;
-dependent children, including adopted children;
-children under 18 years of age whom you intend to adopt;
-children under guardianship;
-brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces or grandchildren who are orphans; -under the age of 18 and not married or in a common-law relationship; or
-you may also sponsor one relative of any age if you do not have an aunt, uncle or family member from the list above who you could sponsor or who is already a Canadian citizen, Indian or permanent resident.

Amar babu,
is you wife a citizen / PR ? if she is then she can sponsor her brother.. if she is dependent on you then (maybe) she can sponsor him through you !

My wife is PR.
Thanks for the suggestions but I talked to my uncle who knows about immigration stuff, according to him we can't sponsor him according to CIC rules.
Any other ideas.
Q1. Is there is an easy way to get work permit?
- IT'S EMPLOYER DRIVEN. IF YOU CAN GET AN EMPLOYER WILLING TO PLACE ADS AND TRY TO CONVINCE HRDC THAT YOUR BROTHER-IN-LAW IS THE ONE THEY NEED, THEN HE'LL GET A WORK PERMIT
Q2. Can he get married and sponsor his wife after getting work permit?
- IF HE'S ON WORK PERMIT, HIS WIFE WILL BE ABLE TO JOIN HIM
Q3. Is getting work permit by doing six month nanny course is feasible?
- NOT ALWAYS BUT POSSIBLE. BE CAREFUL BEFORE FORKING OUT LARGE SUMS OF MONEY TO SUCH 'TRAINING SCHOOLS'.
Q4. Is there a better solution for getting PR status after completing studies under Student Visa?
- TRY WORK PERMIT AND IF HE GETS WP, APPLY FOR PR THROUGH CANADIAN EMBASSY IN USA IF HE IS ELIGIBLE. OTHERWISE, HE'LL HAVE TO APPLY THROUGH DELHI AND WAIT LONGER.
