If it was not a under tabel job then dont worry , they have to pay you even if you just work for one day

as maharaj said Labour ministry will help you with that.

Prudent people collect their salary and then quit!
Anyways, you have no option other than notify your employer that you will be reporting them to the labour ministry and if they still donot budge, then report them to the labour ministry.
Again what you are entitled is based on how long you worked there, contract signed, termination notice clause etc... If you were there for less than 3 months, then it is possible that you are entitled to the salary till the day you had worked.
It takes 1 year for the ministry to make your complaint current and so please donot make any plans for the amount.

When you are going to resign from a job, it is generally considered professional or good practice to give a minimum of 2 weeks notice. This is to not leave your employer short staffed. Many companies nowadays require 1 month notice.

It also helps you keep a good reference for future jobs. If you leave an employer in the lurch the way you described above, you risk getting a very very poor reference and burning a bridge (ie/ if you ever need to return to work there for any reason).

So you know my advice as a career counselor is to bite the bullet and accept that this is an error on YOUR part. Take it as a learning experience and move on.
