There is a great news for "left leaning progressive socialist". The sunshine list grew by 10,000. This is great news especially when the country is facing recession and unemployment is at 9%.

No wonder the Libertarian movement is growing so rapidly. If one included those civil servants who are earning more than $75,000-$85,000 annually, I suspect the number of very well-paid people on the government payroll in one form or another, and not including companies that sell their services on a contract basis, would probably jump to total 40 percent or more. If contractors were included in the number of people depending on the government for their earnings, the number of well-paid, in this case $100,000-plus yearly, would likely more than double. And the latter are the ones who complain the most about government spending.
In total this is absolutely shocking. It's lucky for politicians that the poor and people whose families earn less than $50,000 usually don't vote, or elected officials and their civil servants and dependent contractors would be thrown out the door -- without indexed pensions.
Unfortunately, the middle class and poor are stupid at election time.

For a second, I thought the Sunshine List was the published names of the winners of a government run lottery....was I wrong?

A payroll manager in the private sector makes $35-$45K
A payroll manager at LCBO makes $113K
A ticket collector at TTC makes over $100K
A ticket collector at the Movie Theatre makes minimum wage!
Time to privatize!
Get an auditor into the LCBO and other Government Crown Corps and I guarantee you can easily squeeze $1 Billion dollars out of Hydro One, OPG, LLCB,, OLGC, TTC etc, etc, etc, etc,..... This money would flow right to the bottom line and reduce the deficit.
Get on with it McGuinty, you Liberal Moron !!!!!!
Cut the deficit and cut our taxes now !!!!!!

And I've got news for all the news reporters what are crap at doing their job...
There are 10's of thousands more that are well above the $100,000 figure BUT... they hide behind multiple positions. Thousands hide behind their university 'tenure' positions while working at Governement research facilities and Hospitals. Their income just less than $100K at BOTH jobs. Never mind all the Directors who sit on multiple boards.
63,000 times 100,000 equals 6,300,000,000. 6.3 Billion. A freeze would have had made such a huge difference. City of TO also has such highly paid employees. That explains the phenomenal rise of RE in GTA.
Privatization will only move the money from the lowest level to a higher level..
The question needs to be asked how are there no salary slabs based on position..
