True or False.. I think next time I visit toronto .. I am gonna take Mr. TK at his word and visit his office :) after all we go there to see things worth seeing..
By all the postings seems like this office is more happening than Toronto Zoo..

Sorry, but how is this good advice?? The use of absurd profanity in an email that amounts to defamation is probably grounds for a weak lawsuit on the employer's behalf. Your boss would be nuts to actually go through with it, unless he has time to waste and like yourself lives for the drama of it. Matter of fact, if done in the right way, its perfectly allright to let your boss know your reasons for leaving once you quit.

And even if there were merit in a lawsuit and it was a legit threat, exactly what class of immigrants actually need this advice? That please don't shoot off a "vulgur" (sic) (its vulgar) email to your boss when you decide to quit of your own accord? And don't get into fights with your co-workers before quitting?

What's next?

1) Immigrants should not pull someone's hair to get their attention in the office.
2) Immigrants should not jump into the pool with Killer whales while visiting Marineland.
3) When someone at work gestures to you to zip your mouth closed, it is not a good idea to run to the tailor to get an actual zipper put on your mouth...

Entertaining? Absolutely, TK! No one can deny you that! Please don't pass the obvious off as "advice" though.

What TK is telling, I can relate to that. I had helped a desi lady (in her late 40s) to get a contract job with our group, thought thank god, she was reporting to another guy (he is from Far East). Damn, that was the biggest mistake I did. She threw tantrums, irresponsible behavior, and what not. That was a big slap on my face. Her contract ended in March this year and promptly was packed off. She was ok with whites, but with non-whites, she was out of control.

I learnt a good lesson. I will be very careful next time when recommending another desi.

Thanks DIO for the example.
I am not sad that i recommended those 2 people. My boss, himself acknowledged that they were both very good at their work. What he was angry was the way that they left. Without notice and with a very nasty and foul notice accusing a honest associate and smudging her name,
Everyone would undertstand if i divulged the nasty contents of the letter. It was not polite, etical, resonable, professional etc... way of leaving.
They had called the associate a liar, politically motivated woman, of character as a leopard whose spots canot be changed, a woman who controls a man by her nature/ beauty etc... The letter was pretty vulgur and even me (who generally donot become emmotional for trival reasons) was angry at the abuse melted out to an elderly single mother
However with all this i will still recommend a talented desi for a job.
My OP was to tell the public to be careful of the way you leave office. This is not India / Gulf where the employers canot do anything against you with a written proof accusing them. All employers in this country have company lawyers. Our co. is just 8 people now and we do have a company lawyer. I know that when i left my saudi arabia job, I wrote an E-mail to my boss listing out the abuse that he melted out to me. It seems that he told my PM that he will kill me if i set foot again in saudi arabia. I fgot off the hook since i had already decided never to enter saudi arabia again. But for this desi couple, they have no intention of leaving Canada. so it is all the more problem for them.

Sidenote : Cd's know that 2 people were laid off before this happening. I told the boss to recall a desi who was laid off. He was not too happy with her performance but now he has told me that he is going to recall her. Whether she rejoins or not is another story,

I think its called burning the bridge. If those desis apply for a job in an another firm and list your firm in their experience, who knows, the new boss may know your boss. And how sure everyone is that they will not do the same thing with the new firm. Habits die hard.

Some desis need lots of soft skills.
