Drove in a Nano with my cousin who got it in the lottery. I was s**t scared and holding on to the whatever object I could find in the car. Was praying Hanuman and Ganesh, when the ride will end and me coming out safely. Its like a autorickshaw with an additional wheel. You say ufff...and Nano will fly away. One touch by a bus or truck, Nano is chapati. While in the car, I was thinking to call my wife to tell her where all important papers are in Canada in case something happened.

I dont want a Nano even if its given free!

This is the Canadian talking with all Nakhra. If you were in India you would chup chap enjoy the bumpy ride.

As per Ratan Tata, concept of Nano car originated from seeing two wheelers being overloaded by family members. It is not uncommon to see four to five people travelling on a scooter specially in rural areas. That too with small kids on passenger's lap!
What is more dangerous is now your call;)

C'mon give some credit to Ratan Tata for making car so affordable.

Totally agreed! even so called reliable cars could crash due to "unintended acceleration" issues ;).
I hope the object you were trying to hold was not the stick (gear):D . Don't have the expectations of car, just think you are in an auto, with the speed of auto and the ride will be enjoyable. Safe Auto with extra wheel and seat belt :).
oh and yeah it is always better to pray hanuman, ganeshji and keep spouse apprised about important papers :D
I would be thankful to Nano to give this whole new meaning to life.

But thanks for sharing the experience, I would avoid the ride myself next time. Don't want to go through this ordeal. ;). And yes If I get one for free, I will keep it especially for the nautanki friends visitng from abroad :D

Jai Ho....

At least in auto I can jump out quickly from both sides. In Nano I am stuck in case of emergency. Tata’s could have done even better, but that’s their call. Bumpy ride? Yes, no doubt. OTOH, if I get it for free, I will sell it to some bakhra for a discount.

You know febpreet as much I am tempted to respond to this question , I would take a pass mainly because this post will loose its original sanctity/seriousness of our friend's near death experience while driving Nano and the enlightment towards life after that. :D
