can the experts on the forum throw light on the following :
when the person is landing and going back say in 15 days or one month time, why is advisable to take only PR and not go for SIN,Medical and bank account?
Many people complete all these formalities including CCTB etc and return and avail CCTB even after they return. If canadian Givt come to know this What will be the consequences?
Are all canadian citizens children eligible for CCTB even if they stay outside canada n no. of days ?
I wonder how canadian Govt keep track of who is staying in canada and who is outside canada etc?

-- The SIN, health card and the bank account is needed and is useful only when you are residing in Canada. If you plan to return immediately to your place of residence outside of Canada, it is in your best interest to avoid having *any* ties with Canada so that you do not have ANY tax liability.

-- The CRA will ask the money back. The possibility of penalty cannot be ruled out.

--No. The CCTB is available only when you reside in Canada. You might want to confirm this on the CRA website.
thanks cdn_dude. Interesting. I wonder when Govt really starts tallying, they will realize that, half the children who are given CCTB are out of Canada enjoying in their home country with Canadian CCTB money.

it is not just CCTB.
it is also senior grants and benefits.
also OHIP.
there is rampant abuse of the social benefits system by desis and south asians in general.
desis sponsor their elderly relatives who live here a few months every year during summer probably and for the rest of the year live back in their home country
but they keep collecting all benefits and whenever need expensive medical treatment come here and get it done then go back again
millions of tax dollars must be leaking from the system but govt doesn't care because they have bigger fish to fry like spending $1 billion on G20 conference

Does someone have any suggestion as to how could this be monitored efficiently? This will keep happening unless any concrete steps are taken. However, even still you can't monitor the entire immigrant population. That's the only truth.
CCTB can be monitored through school records and babies who are not going to school can be monitored thro booster/vaccination record. Even Airport records can be taken as a help to reduce corruption in such areas.
As for new immigrants, they can be monitored thro their bank account operations.
