My perents have been denied for single entry visitor visa and told to provide/prove following to get visa.

(i) Sufficietnt ties to country of residence (India) to satisfy immigration officer and confirm that parents would depart Canada if allowed to enter as a visitor

(ii) Sufficent income or assets to cover the cost at trip.

I invited my parents on visitor visa. I sent all the supporting documents including

(1) Employment letter
(2) tax return
(3) bank balance
(4) invitation letter
(5) insurrance

My parents also showed documents such as (1) Property (2) Bank balace etc...
My parents are retired since last 10 years

Do you have your siblings in India.

When your parents go for the visa again ask them to carry their (your bro-sisters) passport.

This is what we did when my parents applied for visa

The denial of Visitor Visa for Parents strated recently. I heard same story from many people.

I am not sure what is going on with Canadian High Commission at India. Are they thinking that parents after going to Canada will not come back? What is in this country so special? When legally it is not possible to get a good (or bad!) job, what are they (parents) at the age of 60 plus going do? That too without any health protection? So stupid thinking. They also agrgue that why don't you go on PR. We can go for PR, but the prolem is the delay. It takes almost 3 years! And for Parents at the age of 65, 3 years is way too much to wait!

Asking for more documents, is just a reson to refuse it.

There could be one reason. In the recent years (last 3-4), India overtook China for immigration to Canada. Now most of new immigrants are here for last 3-4 years and for many of them, it is time to Invite Parents to see "Forigen" and so there could be lot of rush for Visitor Visa. And the office might be given a quota and so they are refuging Visas.

This is my analysis.

First of all thank you very much for your reply.

My elder brother is living with my parents. I had indicated in the application form. My father is retired and in my openion this is one of the main reason to reject application.

All the supporting documents have been shown to them (assets, FD's and other incomes).

What other documents my parents need to show them.

Try writing to them for reconsideration. Last resort, if you feel strongly about this, consult a lawyer who can advise you on the merits of an appeal.

But finally they issued visitor visa.
