We hold an Indian passport and Canadian PR. I was given to understand that Canadian PR's can get VISA on arrival in UK and other Schengen Countries. Is it true? Kindly advice.

No, that is not true. Schengen visa must be obtained through the country's consulate (whichever country you intend to enter first).

Good day. Thanks for the update. I was told that if you have the PR card and land in Netherland, Belgium there is no need to have pre arranged visa. Can you please re confirm or share your personal experience if any.

Nothing is changed as far as I know. Also, the above link provides info for visa and passport requirements for every country based on your citizensip and PR status i.e., "alien resident of". Based on this link, it states, you will need schengen visa from a consulate (I tried Belgium as a sample).
