This is to inform you about very poor inspection practices by following desi inspectors in GTA. :

(Please PM me for the names)

These guys were recommended by the selling real estate agent, since I was dealing with him directly. Both of them came together to do inspection of my house. Since both of them were working at the same time doing different things, it was difficult to keep track of what they were doing anyway. They seemed to be more concerned about not annoying the selling real estate agent by openly talking about the issues.

Just one month into the closing, following issues have been discovered so far:
- Wall damage behind shower in basement due to years of leakage
- AC broke down
- Furnace motor broke down
- Leakage from roof
- Rocking Toilet in powder room
- Mice infestation in kitchen

All of these issues had pre-exising signs and not mentioned to me by either of
the inspectors. However they very smartly sneaked some of it indirectly into my report to be safe and some issues they said were not covered after the fact. However I've used services of "canadian" inspectors who went above and beyond in leaving no stone unturned during inspection in my previous house.

I usually prefer and try to give business to fellow desis but I'm typically finding careless attitude when desi provides service to another desi. This is a heads-up to all who are planning to hire services of house inspection.

I am agree with u about this, but mostly we dont know more inspector and who is good and who is bad? so we end up with real estate proposed house inspector.

In my view i come to know later that my house inspector does not have camera which should detect the moisture behind the wall. but later diffrent opinions i come to know that we should find inspector who has this camera who can easily detect water behind fresh new dry wall.

this camera cost about 7000$ so mostly our desi inspector dont have it and they dont say at the time of inspection.

just to anyone new guys if buying house make sure asked first question to home inspector that does he has this camera to detect moisture or not?

I am very surprised about home inspection.I read \"What is home inspection\" in Brampton Guardian and i still surprised people do not understand home inspection report is not a home warranty. No one can buy home warranty in $200(Home Inspection Fee). Most of people thinks they had home inspection and thier furnace not going to break down for ever or same roof is for ever. For more details visit:www.newscanada.com and atlest people can understand what is home inspection. I always recommended Carson Dunlop for home inspection.Home inspection fee starts from $450,that is well worth for protect your investment.

Always find your own inspector.
Stay away from Desi ones.

This is what I have heard.
Usually its the selling agent or even if it is the buyers agent but want to make a
quick sale, they will recommend an inspector they know. Sometimes they will do the inspections themselves. And everything will pass just fine till you actually start living in the house and notice things. Too late.

Also these real estate agents will make some reasons and say they will not be there for the final inspection and tell you to handle it. Not recommended.
Insist that they be present before you close.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.

desi or non-desi - all are same. You should list negative comments about the individual or his company on BBB Bureau.
