8 movies would be 16 hours? 16 hours would be 16 GB of your download. Depends on how much download your ISP offers without paying extra I think since you are paying for internet anyway regardless of whether you use Netflix or not. Someone with ISP like Teksavvy is not going to get to 200 GB download unless they do heavy downloading outside of using Netflix. In that case 8 movies is going to cost $8.
Netflix offers very select TV shows, so it cannot replace your cable TV completely. I am not sure about movies.

I calculated and found this unlimited Netflix is only good for people who rent a really high no. of movies per month, say more than 10. Considering one watches 2 movies per weekend, it comes to 8 movies per month which cost on an average $35-40 if renting from Rogers or Blockbuster. Now, on top of it you need to invest in a game console, Xbox360 or PS3 each of which costs about $250. In addition to that a 125GB internet connection for about $50.
So, apart from one time investment in Game console (for non-gamers it would be an itch), one would be shelling out approx. $110/month. Let's admit that we will not disconnect our cable. This would be your monthly expense to watch unlimited movies/programming: Cable $50 + 125Gb internet $50 + Netflix unlimited membership $8 = About $110 including HST.
If you are the one who watches an average of 1 movie per weekend, then renting would be about $20-25/month. For fun sake, anybody heard of Torrents for downloading Hindi movies?
Netflix is certainly not a good deal for a low to average movie watcher in my opinion.
Do your math.
