I was earlier with old Magic Jack and have upgraded to new Magic Jack ... No problems at all - earlier there would be performance variation if any work was done on the computer but now since MJ+ is independently connected to the router there s no problem .

MJ+ is very good . At $30 - $40/- a year an unlimited free NA calling , the value is excellent for money ...And you can use any intetnet provider regardless . And while talking , hearing or being heard , one cannot make out its a VoIP .

Thanks Fido.

Any idea about where can I find MJ+ for good price? Any discount for existing customer?

Magic Jack had themselves promoted MJ+ to existing customers @ half price some time back and I had purchased then .... From my earlier experience , check the prices @ Tiger Direct / Factory direct etc and then ask Best Buy to price match which they will .. The advantage is that Best Buy has a 30 days return plicy which others do not - MJ would charge you shipping to and fro .

I have used Distributel; never had a problem.

Bonus - download is unlimited!

Hi Fido,

If you had compared the price between Teksavvy and Distributel and if it is almost same then I would recommend to go with most of the people have used here. I would recommend to buy your own router rather than from either of these internet companies, so at least you might be able to save some $$ by buying in sale price.

However if you are concerned about your Majic Jack then it will work perfectly fine with either of the internet speed, unless you are concerned about something else. Good Luck and pls share the experience after using the service provider you may select.

To share an update :

I called Bell to cancel and upon telling them that I am looking @ $25/mo offer from Teksavvy they matched the price for next one year . And even upgraded my package !!

Since I already have their modem and set up and had no trouble with service , I plan to continue with Bell .

That s competition - its nice to see so many Internet providers around !!

What is the cap for upload and download? Or is it unlimited when bell upgraded your package?

Like I said my usage is not much around 15 Gb ber month .

They upgraded me to a faster speed - with a cap of 15 + 25 = 40 GB .. And no contract - which means I can still switch to Teksavvy or Distributel when I wish to ....
