Hi,

My brother is studying in sweden and wishes to visit canada during his winter break. Since, i do not have a permanent residence permit(on a valid Work Permit), i cannot formally invite him. So, does he have to show funds even though he shall be staying with me? Has anyone faced this situation?

Also, can i help in any way to ensure that his application is not rejected?

He can come on visit visa. A good reason to come, enough funds and reason that he will go back are required to be shown. A letter from you to the visa officer also will help. A good paper work will do his job.
