You were a victim of credit card fraud and not identity theft. Identity theft happens when someone assumes your name and identity and they apply for loans and credit cards.
These are the steps you will have to take if your identity is stolen.

If only credit card information was stolen then credit card company would replace your card and give a new card number.

Today I called the shipper of my packet after 147 hours of my reported loss. They have no information yet.
CSR asked me to call back on friday (today is monday morning - it means that they will not do anything during the week. On friday they have excuse that call back next week)
I tried to speak with their supervisor / manager, But they say that case is being handled by the back office, hence they have no information yet.
I am sure that Indian commpanies have better working procedures than american/canadian companies. and there Indian CSR donot put you on hold for 35 minutes. Also, Indian companies are courteous enough to call you back if you ask them, but canadian companies always ask you to call them back during the day time working hours. I asked the CSR that can they call me back - she informed me that their system does not support call backs and there are always callers waiting that they have to attend.
Exception is if candians/americans want to sell you something they can call you any time of the day and in the middle of the night too.
I am still very frustrated with this incident and the way it is being handled.

Yes I completely agree with you ..Canada is bad , Canadian system including health care and roads are bad ..Customer service sucks . Canadian public forums are worse .
India is way to go ...
Only curious to know what keeps people coming back here on different pretext .
I would not even come back to renew my PR since the country is nothing but bad.
EDIT : TSE is worse of all . See what HNU has done to all of us brown immigrants .
