"Change before you have to" : Jack Welch
The rule about the booster seats, though having good intentions, is going to cause a lot of problems. In Canada, it is so common to see parents car-pool for everything - dropping and picking up from school, taking to outdoor activities, celebrating birthday parties and various other activities. One cannot expect children to carry their own seats with them every time they want to car-pool.
However the rule for G1 and G2 licence for teenagers is great - and comes at the right time for me! Now if this rule was enacted in Singapore, people would call it a rule of police state! That is what Singapore believes in - if people cannot be taught otherwise, kill the problem in the bud - na rahega baans, na bajegi bansuri!

I saw a demo about booster seats and the officer had this to say.
You can spend and go through the inconvenience of using a booster seat now.OR maybe have to spend for a wheelchair and care for an invalid later.
Apparently, the way a child slouches in the seat can cause the seat belt to
either1) carve out internal organs at the stomach. 2) break the neck.
I'll admit that my 6yr old does not ue a booster seat. I'm now thinking of getting one.

It comes down to how bad the parent (or other driver) is driving!
