I don't think that there will be any major event that will end the human race can take place.
However, there will be sequences of events which will keep controlling overpopulation.i.e. tsunami, earthquakes, wars, terrorism, new diseases etc.
Recently we had a Tsunami in Indonesia and 400 people died and other 200 are missing.
I regularly watch TV and surfing to read current news but I didn't know about this until somebody at workplace told me. Small events are so common that when people died below 1000 don't grab any attention in media. But for those who are victim that is the end for them.

Is this how the majority of people console themselves when they have children 1-2- 5 or 10? Dont worry, overpopulation will be controlled by natural disasters..but of course it will never be MY children that suffer, always someone else. The earth's resources cannot keep up.

It is well documented that if humans continue to reproduce at current rates, it does endanger the continuation of our species. We need to reduce the number of children we have.

If our species is to survive, it is also imperative we reduce our dependance on eating meat. Many people in this world are starving/impovrished, but a lot of land is being used to grow grain to feed ANIMALS that wealthier humans want to eat.

Humans arevery selfish. We as a whole, do not look at the big picture or long term implications of our current needs/wants and abuse of resources. This earth can exist just fine with out us. However, not the other way around.

lol. I can see how what I wrote can be misconstrued. I meant to say "lets reduce the number of children we potentially have (in the future)".

Completely agree. For instance, we waste so much water (and I literally mean 'so much') that we fail to think about and empathise with the continents that are in dire need of this precious resource. But, we hardly care unless we are directly affected.

Just a small practical example.
