Life has changed for better (or worse)
Pets are good, but require a lot of care. Life expectancy of most pets (cats/dogs) is less & the resultant loss of a pet is very painful. The sorrow, stress & grieve one experiences is not worth.
I have a pet cat mostly outdoor, & rests in my garage.
We try to keep emotional attachment as less as possible.

Ashedfc:

what you are doing is very very cruel and inhumane to your cat. What is the point of keeping a cat if you are keeping it in the Garage?

Even though animals dont live as long as human do, they give a lot in terms of companionship, loyalty and enjoyment. We dont know how long anyone in our lives is expected to live.

PLEASE GIVE YOUR CAT AWAY. I was in tears when I read your post.
The experience of having a cat/dog/pet is absolutely wonderful. You are not a very caring pet owner..why do you keep this cat????????????????
If you believe in something called "Karma' then please please please please find a better home for your cat. You are teaching your children (if you have any)how to treat animals this way.

please.

Prince:
its always important to do your homework before buying a dog. Its because of impulse purchases or people who dont have experience that animals get abandoned to shelters and put down.

Go to your local Petsmart or animal store and ask for help in training and learning how to take care of your dog. It can be stressful for you and for your dog because you are new to them, and they dont know or understand where they are. They need time to adjust. They need a kind soothing tone from you. They need to feel safe and secure. You have to treat them like a baby and dont scold if they have an accident on the floor. The training you give them now will determine their fears/habits and understanding for their entire life. Dont overwhelm them either. Lots of positive reinforcement when they go to the bathroom outside. NO HITTING.

if you need more information please msg me. I have dogs.
thanks.

Congrats on your first pet ... you will love him more than anything soon.

I have had dogs since I was in school and never looked back :-)
I have lost dogs and gone through new puppies and rescued pets adjusting and thankfully have a family which adores dogs too.

For first time owners, young puppies can be stressfull specially since they are in teething stage and still need to be house trained. But again they are more playful now and will outgrow puppydom in 6 months!

Like suggested, pls visit petsmart as you will find many tools and help there and also your vet could give you some good tips on training handling etc.

Enjoy the new member in family ...
