Apart from my Engineering degree/MBA from India, I acquired another MBA degree from Canada..Wife is working as an occasional teacher (difficult to get a permanent teacher position here)
Income is not bad.. never went into factory jobs.. always had white collar jobs..Was marketing head in a reputed company while in India..moved nearly 6 yrs back..
Just received offer from a reputed company in Ahmedabad for 15 lacs pa.. seems lucrative, so want to go back..
Can you pl. provide your thoughts??
Thanks
I would say 15 Lacs salary almost equals to 100,000 $ in Canada when you compare the cost of living. What you get is a better social life there, if your family and friends are there.
Quite often, though, the people there are too much social. It means if you are used to quite life here, don't be surprised to see lots of invitations for strangers
Ahmedabad is changing very fast and I don't it would be hard to adjust there.

I don't think 15 Lakhs per annum is a very good salary. Entirely my opinion, as it comes to about a little over 1 Lakhs per month. Did you calculate how much in-hand you will receive? Is it a CTC or a Salary? Please consider that as well. Also factor in the Real Estate. Do you have your own house in India or planning to buy one in the city once you move? Any cultural, social, environment (bribe, curruption, lawlessness, donations in schools/universities esp. the high fee in NRI quota etc.) implications need to be factored in as well - just in case if you're interested in. Make sure you won't have to repent your decision, lacking any short/longterm implications and benefits.
Go back only if you have a loads of money and already a house in India. Then only you can look to have a sufficient savings with your proposed 15 Lakhs employment.
Do the complete SWOT analysis alongwith pros/cons of your decision and then take a plunge.

I second this ... Considering the fact that Real Estate is not cheap in India - 15lacs is not enough. Look at the Mortgage Rate, its not 4% that we pay here.
Social Expenses will also rise by expanding Social Life in India ...
