I and my wife and my daughter were sponsored by our son for family immigration in 1998 got immigration in 1999. we landed in Toronto in May 1999.We lived in Cananda from 1999 to 2007 and left Canada (Me and my wife) in November 2007 and thereafter we did not go to Canada due to my wife's health problems. Our PR card expired on 1-11-2009. We did not apply for citizenship also during the period of our residence in Canada. My daughter is well settled in Canada and she got citizenship in 2003. Our son was also citizen of Canada but he moved to USA in 2002 and he got citizenship of USA recently. Can any body please guide us on the following two questions.
1 Can we get renewal of PR card and which documents we need to get for our re-entry in Canada.
2 In case the answer to first question is negative can we get VISA for visiting Canada and living with our daughter for few months.
I believe your best chance is to apply for a Travel Document under the Humanitarian and compassionate grounds, citing your wife's illness as the primary cause for staying out of Canada and not meeting PR requirements.
Please review the following PR residency requirements:

You have now been out for only 3+ years and had maintained full residency for a period of almost 8 years prior to that.
I'd say you have a good chance of getting the Travel Document and not lose your PR status.
Following is information about Travel Document:

If your Travel Document application is successful, you will be able to re-enter Canada as a PR.
After that, you may apply for a PR Card renewal again.
Regarding a visa, I'd say it is very hard for you to obtain a visit visa.
You have lived in Canada for 8 years and hold a PR Card.
It is very unlikely that the consulate will give you a visa, even if they decide you have lost the PR status.
Your best chance lies with the Travel Document.
Good luck.
