We, family of 3 are contemplating moving to BC after living in GTA for 10 yrs... the reason is extreme weather. We can get a job transfer to Burnaby. After checking out house prices in Vancouver, Burnaby, we are thinking of settling in Langley ( yes...we read abt the racial attack on Indians there....that can happen anywhere..only hope that discrimmination isn't common there). We dont mind travelling for upto 40 min from house to work.

Where are most of Indian localities around there?...we prefer not too much, neither too little. (Among GTA cities, we preferred to live in Mississauga)Does Langley have any Indian population? The house prices (3Bedroom) seem reasonable there as compared to Vancouver and Burnaby. But dont want to live in a small townish place either...(need good library, gym within 15 min )

Anyone, recently moved to BC? Please advise..

Oh man,
U touch the nerve of what I am thinking. Through this is mine first winter in GTA But I have promised by wife that within 5-7 years , we Will relocate to Vancouver. No way I can live rest
Of life in such winters. But the problem is two fold. Jobs are less and House prices are double. I am buying a new detach here in Brampton for 450k. Similar stuff there seems to be in surrey at 750k plus.
Perhaps one need to be start his own company before move( that too successful -)). Even 6 digit salary seems less. But then health is wealth. Best of luck to your relocation.

ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸੋਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ. ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀ GTA ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਰਦੀ ਹੈ .ਲੇਕਿਨ ਮੈਂ ਪਤਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ 5 - 7 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਸੀ ਵੈਂਕੂਵਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਸਰਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਲੇਕਿਨ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਦੋ ਗੁਣਾ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਘੱਟ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਦੁੱਗਣੀ ਹਨ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਘਰ ਖਰੀਦ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਇੱਥੇ 450k ਲਈ Brampton ਵਿੱਚ . ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਲਈ 750k ਪਲਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ
