To fix a crack in basement, which method is better ? Water proofing frm outside ? which is about $ 1000 and lot of digging OR injection method from inside which is about $ 300/400. Both give guarantee for 10 / 20 years and both criticise other method. Then there is third choice, Some say they inject a dift material which is crystals kind..really confusing...pl advice. thanks.

I wouldn't believe a word on the 10/20 year guarantee. Having said that, both are acceptable. If the outside is easy enough to dig up (no decks, landscaping, etc, etc), then outside might be better.
Another way if outside is not possible and to get a more comprehensive fix is the following:
Dig the floor concrete along the wall edge until the weeping tiles are exposed. Then they put the waterproof plastic sheath on the wall after fixing all the leaks via injection. Everything then is cleaned up. The idea is to let any future leaks drip along the wall behind the plastic sheath into the weeping tile which then carries the water to the sump (that will be pumped by the sump pump). This method is estimated at about $3000 to $4000 and ensures dry basement even if there is a leak in the future.

After having done from inside, found that it leaked again, and again, and.....and this was at a few cracks.
Finally did it from outside........and have never had a problem again.
But the problem might come back from other places in the wall, unless the whole perimeter is done from outside.
