You can find a job in 1 year. Our friends were on EI but always found jobs. Besides it depends whether you are trying hard enough. Market is not that bad now and you can always try for USA. Consultants there sometimes recruit for Canada.

you must be living in fairy world....
it is not that sweet and simple as you have written. there are hundreds of people outside who could not find jobs and had to take labour jobs for survival. I am not talking of new comers.
aashu seems to be in accounting field which is very tight at this time.
