Desi community is there but of course it is not as big as Toronto/GTA. You can find common items in 2-3 indian stores that are in the area. There are both north and south indian music classes available but you definitely you will have a much wider choice in Toronto.

If you are very picky about Indian grocery, you can always visit Mississauga or other parts of GTA once every couple of months and stock up. There are some select items available in Food Basics, Superstore and Walmart too in addition to local Indian stores in Kitchener-Waterloo.

There is shortage of family physicians in Waterloo area and lot of people do not have any family physician, so a family physician would be very welcome in addition to a pediatrician.

THanks for your replies-My wife got the offer in Waterloo area and she has not signed the contract yet.
I dont mind travelling to Missisuaga area for music classes and so on.My only concern is if we can get a desi community in the Kitchener/Waterloo area.-I know it it not big but atleast some desis with whom we can interact and my children can play would be good.

RajCanada- there are shortages of physicians in the entire Ontario province but one of the reasons could be that Ontario has very stringent criteria to accept overseas medical graduates even if they have completed training from neighboring USA.The registration for physicians is such a long and tedious process that I almost turned down my job offer bcos of that.I applied in June of last year and I only got confirmation from them last week.I worked in UK and also US-but nothing compares to the amount of time it takes for a physician to Canadain license.

I think mostly desis are spread out who are living in houses but there could be some apartment buildings where they are slightly more in number like apartments close to Fairview Mall in Kitchener.
