Hi All,
I would like to share the story about my father SuperVisa.
04 April 2012 - Application Submitted to VFS Global
12 April 2012 - Received Passport for Medical
16 April 201 - Medical Finished
17 April 2012 - Passport resend for Final Decision
07 May 2012 - SUPER VISA Granted till 2017 -father passport expire in 2017.
My father has been denied Visitor Visa twice in 2009 for reason weak family tie in india.
In 2006 Family calss rejected because of my mother health.
I have recently lost my mother so it will be good that he has received the VISA so he can travel and stay with us.
We are planning for his stay with us more then 12 months would it be possible that we can only buy AIR tickets one way. Our agent suggest us to buy two way ticket as he mentioned that my father is coming as a visitor.
Is it mendatory for visitor to have a return ticket as AIR ticket will expire after 1 year period of time. Please send me any informational link if you have any.
Please Advice?
Thank You
SP
Usually one way ticket is more or less equal to the cost of a return ticket. Hence it is advisable to buy a return ticket. Don't know what you mean by two way ticket?
I did check with agent and differece between oneway and return is around $450.
One way ticket is fine.
Buy one way ticket as it is cost effective in your case, and if asked (I doubt), your parents should give the appropriate explaination at port of entry. They generally do nto care abt ticket or see ticket, just verbally ask when will you go back ?
Your agent is talking from his experience of visitor visa as well as inexperience of super visa !!

Below is the email received Delhi High Commision.
------------------------------------------------------
Dear Sir/Madam,
This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.
While airlines are able to issue one-way tickets to long term temporary residents, such as Super Visa holders, students or workers and their dependants holding the appropriate visas, and there is no regulation preventing admission to Canada of a visa holder travelling on a one way ticket to Canada, it is the decision of the airline whether to allow a passenger to travel to a particular destination on a one-way ticket or to require that the passenger obtain a return ticket.
The High Commission of Canada does not have the authority to direct airlines to issue particular types of tickets in particular circumstances.
We trust that this information will be of assistance.
