Any updates yogiclogic?
Hi. I am looking to get my PIO converted to OCI (I am late, I know). Are they still accepting applications? The website has the deadline notification as December 2017. Contacting BLS on phone was of no use as it's been busy forever.
I have to travel to India for about 29 days and already have a PIO. Should I just not convert to OCI at this moment and go with it with my old passport that the PIO is endorsed at? Any problems at the Indian port of entry?
Also, if the e-Visa thing is still valid for the India travel under (or equals to) 30 days? The BLS site has no mention of it, but the other Govt. website does show this very category:
https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html
Thanks.

Dan, Using the VOS with the immigration category info under Remarks, i submitted my OCI application. It was successfully processed and I was able to get my OCI without any problems.
The key was to ensure that the VOS document contains Immigration Category information under remarks. I included a covering letter to the CIC requesting them to include this information in the VOS. I also included a printout of the OCI requirements that asked for this information specifically. That worked very well for me.
Hope this helps.Good Luck!
