You hit a nail with this comment. That's my question as well. Getting India industrialized is one thing, but cleaning out the grass root Public offices, Policing, Judiciary, and bureaucracy is another. The latter doesn't have any chance as no politician has the spine to take revolutionary steps to cleanse the system and rid public of corrupt practices. Case in point – Russia. Industrialized, full on with natural resources’ extraction and export, but neck deep in corruption.

I quote BJP's own record of corrupt municipal practices in MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi). Nothing gets done there without a bribe. If they couldn't cleanse such a small entity restricted to a tinier geographical circumference, then I highly doubt their intentions of an effective/efficient governance in a highly diverse country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Modi wave is just like an advertisement – great punch line but a weaker product. A product is endorsed by Salman Khan doesn’t mean it will sell, barring an initial brouhaha. Reminds me of ‘India Shining’ campaign in 2004, which proved to be a damp squib.

Things will remain the same for an Aam aadmi (not the party) on the surface, regardless of BJP or Congress. BJP was less evil in the days of Vajpayi, even respected by the supporters like me and my family, but Modi changed it all. His mannerism and speeches are less said the better. His face shows all the greed of power by sidelining the seasoned and respectable stalwarts within his own party – who does that really? Why has there never been any dissent coming from Gujarat even from the opposition parties. Why the media is even silent and are not interested to show the full picture and other side of story in Gujarat? It is Power at its lower periphery. It is clear who is benefitting from it all – big media houses and businesses that have a higher than usual stakes in Modi. When every seasoned politician is being and has been questioned, why not Modi? And, why media has already assumed him to be a future PM, without getting into a real analysis for each State and not just the ones that BJP already governs?

Big guns and money are at stake with Modi, which is very much apparent. In the midst of it all, a common man just looks around and scratches his head powerlessly; even grins to the purportedly false hope.

Absolutely true ..
Thats why Gujaraties have elected Modi for 3rd time . It seems Gujaraties are keeping their eyes closed and voting for Modi on his false claims of development . But all other Indians should not repeat the same mistake of Gujaraties . Modi is corrupt and have no vision or manner . It seems that He is illiterate . We can say that even Lalu , mulayam , myawati and Mamta have better manner & They have better vision . How we can forget great AK-49 , He have better vision (?) and manner which he showed in Delhi and wants to share same benefit to india. You are true that people should not vote for BJP as it is not the same party of atal era instead they should vote for AK-49 who have better vision , He is true nationalist and worked very hard from his childhood to serve country . AK-49 is so caring of all indian children and their future , example .. he doesnt want to disturb his daughter's study so he is not vacating govt's bunglow . Really people should inspired by AK-49 and more and more people should back him to be a PM as he has proven his ability and character in Delhi .

:-)

Furthermore, when China starts grabbing more land in the Northeast, Modi would probably just take some reckless steps to prevent it.

Kejriwal would do the right thing and do a dharna on the border with his troops. That will immediately stop all incursions. Same for Pakistan in Kashmir.

You have forgotten a big thing on economics. You may hire an engineer, you may hire an MBA, you may hire any expert but Entrepreneurship cannot be hired. If you send every Industrialist to Jail ... who will create value (i.e. money and jobs) within the economy ? The Govt ?? Russian experiment and China lessons tell us that Communism doesn't work.

No, Sire! None is asking to ban Enterpreneurs, rather there should be done more to encourage the enterpreneurship across the nation. Enterpreneurs are not always the big businesses, but moreso fall in middle to upper-middle class.

The problem is how big businesses (whether in India or Abroad) tap into PM candidates and spend millions to get the formers' interests atop everything else. This is absolutely wrong and a pure bribery. I know asking about 100% transparency is akin to be living in fools paradise. Just remove the cartail and nexus of Big Business and Polititians. Too much to ask? But, everyone, including (the foremost) BJPians know it's hard to achieve.

When you have Reliance, Tata, etc. spend billions on Modi or anyone else, what you get in-turn is the next 5 years to be spent on formulating policies that favour these selected few. Rather, the focus should be the upliftment of a common folk on the ground. Last 67 years is the evidence of this trend, which will keep growing in the future to come. Good thing, I don't have high hopes from these Polititians.

We are yet to test Kejriwal. I am not saying he's God and be all. But, to be objective give him credit where it's due. He's getting funding from a common man, fully transparent, and did some good work in Delhi during his miniscule 49 days' rule. Now, being a supporter of BJP or Congress I don't expect you guys to praise him at all. However, please be clear as to what do you want. Actions that benefit a common man, Dharna or no dharna, or nothing with only big speeches, and inherent corruption? I for one go with Kejriwal's party. If he does something for a common man with a Dharna or revolution, I am all behind him. If he gets Govt. officers to work during work hours without any bribe, then even if he sleeps on footpath, I am with him. Like I always advocated Gandhian principles.

Too bad, we want a clean and corruptionless society and abhor leaders that are capable of achieving it. I am not implying Modi here - to be very clear.

Good luck for your esteemed Leader 'Modi'. May he bring propsperity to a common man and rid him of the grassroot level corruption. Hail to him!
