Hello,
We become Canadian Citizen on Dec 2010. but for me and my wife both Citizenship certificate shows half of middle name OR some words of the middle name in Certificate.
Example : original name is # 123 456789 xyzsdfa
Citizenship certificate show # 123 456789 xyz....
means on middle name some of the words are missing.
For my son has complete middle name but for both of us has half name.
Does this is normal? I was thinking that becuase of not enough word space to write complete name but not sure?
do i have to correct it or is it ok? do i have to contact CIC for this or is it normal?
your input will be much appreciated.
thanks a million........
My middle name is also not fully spelt. They left last two letters but better than in PR card. In PR card they left 6 letters. I enquired with them and they told me that it is not due to space issue as they have people with more lengthy names fully mentioned. Some body dealing with the files messed it up. They didn't understand indian names properly as even one letter is missed, meaning of the name changes. But we have to live with it. I didn't even try to change it. I got my OCI, Canadian Passport also by the same name like as in citizenship card. I changed my driving license, bank accounts all accordingly.
Only place the name issue can hamper is on oci application. Apparently others have managed to get it without full last name so i dont see any issues.
Half middlename is quite common on Canadian citzenship documents due to space restriction on their software.
You can get the full name back on ur CAD passport by showing ur old indian passport
