Hi there,
I have a quick question regarding the visitor visa period. My parents got the visitor visa on December 20, 2005 and their visitor visa expiry date is June 20, 2006 however they came to Canada on January 20, 2006. So what will be the expiry date of their visitor visa. I mean from December 20 or January 20.
Thanks for you help.
Regards
Vimal

What is the expiry date on the I-94 ?
the visa will expire on that date. and your parents must leave the country by that date unless, you apply for extension etc. ....
Visa expiry date indicates the validity of the date before which he/she can enter Canada. In other words, in your case, you parents could have entered Canada anytime until June 20, 2006.
However, the validity of stay in Canada is dictated by what the entry stamp indicates in the passport, which could be upto 6 months at a time and may very well fall beyond the visa expiry date.
Per cic, the entry stamp with no duration date indicates that you may stay upto 6 months.

Is the visit for Canada or US?
Either way, the date allowed by the port of entry officer is what determines how long your parents can stay, not the visa expiry date.
Hope this helps.
