Hello All,
I have recently passed the Citizenship Test at St.Clair,Toronto. However while checking my passport the official noticed I had a residency permits of Bahrain (I was working there before arriving in Canada). She advised that that the next step is that I will be interviewed by a Citizenship Judge etc. I am confused as I have the 1095 days already. Has anyone gone through a similar situation, would appreciate your advise. Thank You
Soon you will receive a questionnaire or might have received already.
There is nothing to get confused. Once they see lot of stamps on your passport or other resident permits, they like to know weather you have really stayed in Canada/willing to make Canada as your home.
Once you have the interview letter, let us know. some one will advise you.
Was the resident permit not cancelled when you left Bahrain?
Thank You Gurram, so far no questionnaire has come in the mail. will it take another year to hear from CIC ? Is there anyway to quicken the process
Bombayduck62-theres no cancelled stamp on the residency visa unfortunately.
It won't take another year to receive it .... but takes months of time to hear from them about the interview with citizenship judge after submitting the questionnaire.
There is NO WAY to quicken the process.
Thank you Gurram
I was in Bahrain as well till 05 and cancelled the residency permit before my departure . If the permit has expired why should it matter? I too received a RQ after in applied for citizenship in 2012 and finally got my citizenship last month.
