TK ... If one goes to IKEA, they may get a quality food for a lower price ... I agree. But one can't go to IKEA for a cheap breakfast unless they live next door to IKEA. You are not considering ... TTC/Gas/Time etc.,

Gurram:
Time is a factor but what if you are bored at home on a Sunday and want to spend the time in a controlled environment with your kids and you have a TTC pass.
Easy ! Head over to the Kipling Railway stn. and there is free transport to IKEA Etobicoke.

There is just no free lunch unless you visit coup kitchens or Food banks but even then you will have to need a transport to take you there !!!

Good Morning to all wonderful CD's..

Thanks TK , I have already sent them the required info. So you don't seem to have a good experience of Canada, what went wrong actually, would you mind sharing so that new comers like myself could avoid ... .

Hasni,
Nice question. But it is out of context in this thread.
If you research all my previous post, you might get an indication of it.
CD expects people to be positive, so let us not open any can of worms here.

Appeal to GG and other moderators

I think there is a limit to accepting such behaviour from a member who keeps on harping constantly how to cheat Canada/Govt. It directly means, he tells new immigrants and others how to cheat people like you and me who go by the rules, pay taxes on actual income (whether low or high) and lead a worry free (from legal point of view) life.

Personally I feel, it is people like these who help in raising OUR cost of living thru taxes and other means and he is trying to bring in practices of India, one of the main reasons why we decided to leave that place and settle here.

And why oh why tell a new immigrant to start cheating the government even before he/she has experienced anything bad. Would it be right for me to say that one should be beware of all Tamilians because they cheat the government and steal food from the needy??? Not at all.

And the final rule - why do you feel you want to live in Canada if you think the govt and its people are here to cheat you and making your life difficult???..........Simple thing to do - do not come here. You don't want to come here only because you want to cheat the govt who you think will cheat you once you land here. What sick logic!

That being the case, can GG and other moderators please warn TK from writing such posts (relating experiences is different from advising to cheat) or ban him? I am concerned about this because I have personally been one of the few guys who supported this site in its infancy and helped bring it to a position where it is today, and united people outside of the web-site - in person.

Nothing wrong with what TK is saying..he is just expressing his opinion..you can ignore it , take it with a pinch of salt or follow it.

Its upto the said individual to follow his advice or not..& to face the corresponding consequences or not.

There is always a huge risk of getting caught if you cheat. So the individual should be aware of this.

If TK tells someone to loot a bank or jump from the top of the building , is someone going to do that ?

Everyone is an adult & its entirely upto them, whether to follow TK's advice or not..if someone wants to take it its upto them..not upto us.

I was in Malaysia in 1997 working in an Architectural firm along with a desi who was an Australian citizen. He used to tell me about how good Australia was by its clean air, good buildings, white people, technologically advanced etc.. Though he told me that Australia was in deep recession (started in 1991), I made up my mind to go to Australia. I was afraid to ask him as to how to apply for Australia.

During that time, he fought with another of our co -workers and he had to come to me for help and I helped him. So he told me that he will tell me how to immigrate and told me the process. Then came the real stinker:
He told me to apply for Canada or NZ as he would not encourage Desi's to immigrate to Australia since every new immigrant meant that one less job in Australia and that it would make that difficult for him and his wife to find a job, once they decide to go back to Australia. So like a fool, I applied for Canada and came to the cursed land and lost 9 glorious years of my life.

Hope people with ears will hear and understand.

Cheers to all !! Live and let live !!!

You don't know..Australia could have been worse.

There could have been a racist attack on you , like some Indian students who were beaten up & a few even died . Atleast you were physically safe in Canada, when you came as a student :)
