Hey guys...
I bought a new house & have a quite a few items I have liked in Ikea-Vaughan
But the problem is the items are too big & won't fit in my sedan car. I am wondering whatelse you people do for moving this type of new furniture home other than calling a friend with big van or paying Ikea to deliver....
Do any of you guys have experience with the Ikea delivery thing. How was it and how much do they charge other than $59 zone charge ????
Rent a truck by the hour (plus km) from U-Haul, Ryder, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc and do a self delivery. Home Depot and Lowes may not rent you the truck if you are not carrying their stuff. Seems to vary by stores.

I know somebody who used this service in past and her experience was great. No complaints, easy nice and smooth process. I know as I was with this person purchasing her furniture and while it was delivered. You pay to ikea delivery, they have separate counter, bring your all stuff there and they will deliver. They will call you to give heads-up that they coming to deliver your furniture and deliver day is fixed in advance.
Hope this helps.
Delivery guys are great too.

Congratulations for the new house.
I always used IKEA delivery for all my furniture and appliances. IKEA delivery is great. Their charge is per trip. Flat rate $59 for a trip regardless of number of items to be delivered. Very professional. And the best thing is , during weekdays, if you purchase and order delivery before noon, you get same day delivery. In your case you can plan to purchase as many items as you can on the same day and you will get it delivered at same flat rate. No body can beat it.
I would never buy ikea furniture for a new home!
