Most immigrants waste the Prime years of their life in Canada. Plus their life savings. They also lose " Opportunity Cost " You can also add self respect, dignity to it.
At the end of the day, what does Canada lose ? They might lose a little piece of paper called Canadian citizenship or small booklet called Canadian passport to the immigrant.
Soon the immigrant realises this piece of paper is useless, and Canadian citizenship has become more of a liability and nuisance than cherishment.
Soon he struggles and aspires to get OCI status, the very citizenship he was more than happy to give up to get Canadian citizenship. Then he realises life has come a full circle for him.

Abosolutely Sir.
But there are quite a few sucessful people here, who started working in Tim Hortons or in Factories, looking for jobs during the day and upgrading their qualifications in the night, through evening colleges.
They then get a foothold by getting a low level job in their profession and then start going up the ladder. They then buy a car and a house (on mortgage). They build equity.
Life is tough. But it is a different experience.
If you have children, all the more the better. Two children can earn you atleast $ 900 per month in CCTB. Children education (up to 12 std) is free. No homework. No need to make them do homework till midnight.
ofcourse, some children may turn compacant and violent but more of them move on to get OSAP and study university with a loan. The burden of education starts shifting to the student and not the parent. There is no need of dowry savings, in case of a female child in Canada.
I need not tell you the exiting life, if you are a software engr or a finance professional.
This is a different experience.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
A train stopped at a very crowded station. The passengers inside the coach closed the doors because they don't want more people to join and overcrowd the coach. The waiting people on the station started knocking the door and pushing the door to get into it. After some struggle, as the people on the platform were desperate to get in, the door opened a little bit and a few of them were able to get in. The moment they were in, they also joined the inside passengers and started blocking the door and started shouting 'Close the door, close the door, it is too crowded inside, don't allow any more to get in'.
A tale of two cities - city A and city B. It is easy to go to city B from city A but there are restrictions to go to city A from city B. There is long queue of interested people of city B to go to city A but there is no waiting time for people of city A to go to city B. Few people of city A, who live there but discourage the people of city B to come over to city A. They cry but still live in city A. A very few, who moved from city A to city B, still keep eye on city A, to know what's going on there and keep trying to sniff about city A.

Only problem is that the train is not going anywhere in life and has broken down. The life on the platform is much better, even though its crowded. The people inside the train are suffocating, frustrated, starving, rotting, sweating and can't wait to get back down on the platform.
Same applies to the tale of the 2 cities.
