What the poster meant was, an OCI holder under 21 and 50 and above need to have the OCI visa sticker on the most recent valid passport. This OCI sticker will state the new passport number and such. This info is stated on the consulate websites. For those between 21 and 50, they have the option (not mandatory) of obtaining a new OCI sticker everytime a new passport (renewal) is obtained.

My passport was cancelled the time I got Indian visa for the first time after acquiring foreign citizenship. Do I have to return the already cancelled passport and get surrender certificate. In such circumstances, will they charge fee?

Thank you. It is strange that the rules on the website are not consistent (depend on the consulate). The SFO consulate website does not state this rule.
