I applied to sponsor my parent in 2010. since then I got married and have 2 kids. once I notified CIC about changes I've got a letter that my application needs to be reassessment for specific year and I am eligible to add my husband as a co-signer. How would you do Financial Evaluation? Will it be based on requirement at the time I applied or new requirements? I am referring to Low Income Cutoff or Low Income Cutoff plus 30%. In my assumption I should be based on requirements at the time I applied.

There are a lot of Immigrant help centers located close by and worth contacting them for help in getting the forms completed. It is all done for FREE. So, contact them and drop in if time permits.

On the 3rd January 2017, they open the doors for the next batch of Parents and Grand Parents to get in. You have to
prepare your Application between now and the January 1st 2017 and DOUBLE CHECK for completeness and get it to
the Courier for submission.
If your application is approved, Complete and Ready for Submission, then, you get ahead of all the others.
So, be prepared and do all that you can to get your loved ones into Canada. You have a lot of time NOW.

As an FYI, the process is changing for 2017. It's now going to be a lottery based system.

The 2017 application package will be available on January 3, 2017. However, there is a new process in place for the PGP program in 2017.
If you want to sponsor your parents or grandparents, your first step will be to fill out a short online form to let us know you're interested in sponsoring.
You have 30 days (from January 3, 2017 at noon until February 2, 2017 noon Eastern Standard Time) to submit the online form. Sometime after February 2, we will choose 10,000 entries at random and invite those people to apply.

Just before Christmas, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced an overhaul of the intake process for the 2017 parent and grandparent sponsorship program.
Instead of continuing the old system that usually saw spots run out within days, officials have adopted a lottery system to award the spots and will randomly draw 10,000 individuals from the pool and invite them to submit full applications. Please Read On....
