One last q -- I know I am going into a lot of un needed depth.

I purchased an electric lawn mower 1 month back for a discounted $160/- all in. which is decent and has a bag but does not mulch.

I am planning to buy one today a gas lawn mower which will cost me $245/- all in which has a bag as well as mulching blade.

Price difference is 50%.

My lawn size is small ... front only .. 15 * 20/25 . I intend to mow once in 3 weeks. City Toronto .. does not pick up grass clippings.

Have got 2 options ....

a. Buy gas one today and return the previous one.

b. Use the electric one for an year - see how it goes ... if not up to the mark, then sell it next year for $100/- and then buy the gas one .... advantage being that I got the electric one at a good price and would lose the discount upon returning it .. and who knows it may suffice my requirement.

Which option appears better ?

Keep the electric one.

If you mow every 3 weeks, the grass clippings are really small. No need for mulching.
You can even get rid of the bag from the electric one and let the clippings fall on the lawn, they will add nutrients to the lawn.

Or you can keep the bag and create compost from the grass clippings collected in the lawn mower bag and other organic waste in your house like banana peel, leftover veggies .

Later on you can add it to the lawn in fall as a fall fertilizer..or even in your flower beds and shrubs and trees.
