I bought my mower on Kijiji for $40, works great for me.

If you cut the grass on time then you can leave the clippings on the lawn as clippings are small, so having bag or not won't matter much.
When your life gets busy and you don't get time to cut the grass on time, then lawn mower having bag comes in handy. You can dispose off grass with yard waste but it will not work in Toronto since Toronto does not allow grass clippings in yard waste. You will have to find a way to compost it.

Incidentally, the following one is currently on sale as well... Please advise if the following is better than the previous one, in which case I can return the previous one and buy the new one.

My yard size is very medium 20 ft by 15 ft or so. Thanks.
I also notice per SS that city of Toronto doesn't pick up grass - in which case the latter one appears to be an obvious choice as I think it mulches. But there s no bagger attachment for this one which is there on the former one.
Please advise folks - I need to mow my front this weekend.
Added one more upon researching ... this one has bagging and mulching capability ...

Fido.
I put my grass clipping in the green bin, after I rake the lawn lightly . I don't even waste money on those brown yard waste paper bags.
A lawn mower will easily last 10 years. So don't cheap out on it. For $ 200 you will get a good one, so only 20 bucks a year.
Get one with a bag, as raking is too time consuming and hard on your back and knees. But a good exercise, if you look at it that way. You don't have to rake if you mow frequently as the grass clippings will be small and you can leave them on the lawn
At the end of the season, empty the Old gas (petrol) from the lawn mower. Next year put fresh new gas, don't use old gas from last year.
Also every year change the oil in the lawn mower. You get a bottle of lawn mower oil for 5 bucks. It will last you 3-4 years. You only have to put a little oil into the mower, after emptying the previous dirty oil.

Guys,
One last q -- I know I am going into a lot of un needed depth.
I purchased an electric lawn mower 1 month back for a discounted $160/- all in. which is decent and has a bag but does not mulch.
I am planning to buy one today a gas lawn mower which will cost me $245/- all in which has a bag as well as mulching blade.
Price difference is 50%.
My lawn size is small ... front only .. 15 * 20/25 . I intend to mow once in 3 weeks. City Toronto .. does not pick up grass clippings.
Have got 2 options ....
a. Buy gas one today and return the previous one.
b. Use the electric one for an year - see how it goes ... if not up to the mark, then sell it next year for $100/- and then buy the gas one .... advantage being that I got the electric one at a good price and would lose the discount upon returning it .. and who knows it may suffice my requirement.
Which option appears better ?
