ACK is a heritage legacy that we can pass on 2 r coming generations .
Uncle Anant Pai (as he s popularly known ) has really done a big service 2 the young minds by informing them of the Culture and mythology of India in such an unforgettable way that I remember till date all the ACK stories read during childhood .
In fact I recently gifted a hamper of 30 ACKs to my nephew in India and was surprised 2 know that he hadnt read even a single of them .Only diffrence was -- what costed Rs 3/- those days cost Rs 25/- now . But still the same very much . Thanks 2 Anant Pai !!

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
ACK's are timeless. I gifted a collection of about 200 ACK's (available as a set on fabmall.com) to my nephew who was then 3 years and is now 5. He loves going thro them although he cant read them yet but the ACK's are devoured more by my brother, s-i-l, my husband and me!

Hmmm Tinkle ? Chamataka ? Doob Doob ? Tantri the Mantri !!!! How come no one mentions this 
..Guess what I was a subscriber of Tinkle for the last 3 years ..Have to restart my collection after I go back. Think abt it.. Tinkle, began in 1984..left in 1989 and then again restarted it in 2000 !!!!
I have more or less the ACK's (someday I plan to scan all of them one by one) with prices ranging from 2.50Rs to 10Rs (yeah got them from my Aunt and built on that collection !)
Indrajal comics (Mandrake and Phantom) were also my favs.

Oh I just love mandrake and phantom..there are some new issues of phantom but it doesnt have the charm of the ones I have read as a child.
I also used to love the 'bahadur' comics!
Walker -- the Ghost who walks and the skull mark of the Phantom and then hiw wife ----diana ?? and the golden sands beach after wedding and then his fil --Dave Palmer ........... ha thats past being revisited !! There used 2 b this series 22nd Phantom / smthing in which they had given the history of all Phantoms to the current ..........unforgettable . I wonder if they can ever recreate Phantom as they have done 2 Spiderman .
Mandrake and Lothar and Xanadu atop a mountain ........ Bahadur and his horse --------------Lesser known icons --any1 recalls Garth ??
ACK /Indrajal and Diamond used 2 b the buzzword in r childhood ---wonder if they r still ?? --- Fauladi Singh and Chacha Chaudhary ???
While the others were works of fiction ACK had the distinction of bringing to life the Myths and History of India and the pictures and language were excellent ---- A must for every Indian child !
