Manasvi I wish to point out a small correction in your list of Favs.

Did you mean Kapala Kundala ?

One more question,
what is "The three Guru's" comic ? AFAIK, The guru's covered are :-
Guru Nanak,
Guru Tegh Bahadur,
Guru Gobind Singh & (does this mean 3 guru's) ?
Guru Gobind Singh's loyal servant ...
+ There was also a "Sikhni" (I am forgetting her name) among the list of Sikh figures covered in the comic series

You also have Ranjit Singh,
Bhagat Singh &
Jallainwala Bagh (among other stuff from the Punjab)...

I think the Mughal emperors are quite well covered till Shah Jahan. You even have Sher Shah Suri (between Humayun & Akbar).. Of cos I am guessing Aurangzeb and others may appear some day in Pakistan

As far as illustrations go abt, compare two specific cases.
Say for example "Karna" and "Birbal the Clever",, You will see a world of difference. I never understood why one had better illustrations and why the other one sucked big time !

YEAH MAYBE U R RIGHT O_N . I FAILED 2 OBSERVE THIS BUT THE ILLUSTRATIONS ALWAYS GAVE AN INDIAN VENT 2 A CHILD S IMAGINATION .......... IF ANY1 SPEAKS TENALIRAMA THE COMIC FACE FLASHES 2 THE MIND !!

SOME TIMES I FEEL WE WERE LUCKY 2 HAVE READ ALL THESE BOOKS . CANT RECALL THE SERIES BUT I CHANCED 2 READ COMIC VERSIONS OF SHAKESPEARES PLAYS ALSO WHICH ALSO WENT DOWN WELL .PITY CUD JUST HAVE 5 --- IF I CAN 2 DAY I WILL BUY ALL !!

Lol.. Tenali Rama... of Amar Chitra Katha (is still vivid) and the DoorDarshan version of Tenali Rama (played by Vijay Kashyap of Mr. Bhattacharya fame from yeh Jo Hai Zindagi !...damm forgetable face)..

I esp like the part when T_R prays and prays and Kali appears in front of him with 2 cups of curd...daayan khao toh chatur banoge, baaya khao toh dhanwaan banoge..

Kali Ma, main in dono ko taste karke batata hoon, mujhe kaunsa accha lagta hai...(and he gulps down both of them !)....

Remember that part Manasvi ? (The first few pages of Tenali Ramakrisha !)

And then Kali smiles and lets him have both .

Plus there s this anecdote of thieves coming 2 his house and his throwing away of a trunk in the well .................... Was serialised way back in 86 .................... on TV .............

I vividly recall my 1st ACK-- it was Tales of Hanuman and Imst b in 2nd or 3rd then ............... And till 7th or 8th these must have been a mainstay replaced later by hardy Boys / Nancy Drew & of course unbeatable Archie and Jughead !!! --replaced further by Agatha Christie /Sherlocj Holmes replaced further by Sidney Sheldon /Jeffrey Archer / Ayn Rand and the like .........Reading was heavenly in those days !!

Any1 recalls ANKUR 4m Diamond comics which had non illustrated stories also and a series on Junior Dracula or something ??

Nice reminiscences O_N .
