Hi!
One of my friend has lost his country's passport after 3-yrs of his landing to canada. He was away from canada for around one year. But now he is applying for the citizenship. What he is saying that as now with the new (renewed passport of his country), the record of his absence is no more available in the canadian record and he can say that he was present for the whole time. What will happen in this case? Can he be successful in geting the citizenship or.............?
His absence was in the earlier years when there was no PR card type system available for entery record.
What you people suggest? And what can happen? What line of action he should take............etc?

Better ask him not to do that. If CIC finds out abt it, it is a cognizable offence and he can be prosecuted for that. I think our Immigration expert, Mr Masood will also concur with me. Misrepresentation is a serious offence. Anyways, they will check up their records and it is bound to come up during the police verification process
