Hi Faisal,
Thanks for the reply.
so basically it means that :-
On 19h Feb 2002 I became a Permanent Resident of Canada.
Then on 31 Dec 2002 left Canada for 1 day. TO USA
Then in 2003 left canada for 1 week. TO USA
Then In March 2004 left for Canada for 2 weeks. TO INDIA
Then on June 8th until Nove 15th left Canada for USA AGAIN.
Now, I am in CANADA for 2 weeks only.
AND
Plan to leave CANADA again for 3 mths to USA.
So my question is that I have already completed 2 years out of 5 years since the day I became PR in CANADA.
And then I have been travelling outside Canada for NOT MORE THAN 5 MONTHS.
Am I safe ?
Also not that I have my residential ties in Canada in following ways.:-
1.> I am a regular TAX payee in Canada from the date I became PR.
2.> Have a valid drivers licence and holding credit cards and Alberta Card Insurance .
3.>Have my family living here, my brother and his wife.
Please advice.
Please advice.

I may be wrong but I see nowhere written that you have to return to Canada every 6 months to maintain your residency.

hmm!!
I am not sure , you may be right then.
The reason I am saying to come back to canada every 6 mths is because it says the following in the website :-
"You must accumulate two years of physical presence in Canada in every five-year period.".
so starting from day I became PR Residnet that is 19th Feb 2002 until 7th June 2004 is like more than 2 years.
And then after that left Canada, for travelling puprose.
Does that help ?
thanks and kind regards.
Hi Guys,
Basically this question was for those ppl who are on the study or work permit and is going to expire soon. On the other hand they are planning to put their immigration file and want to maintain their status in Canada either on work permit or study permit.
Some ppl can't extent their work permit which they get it after graduating in Canada and those ppl face real tough time to maintain their status as the post-grad. work permit is not extendible and have to get their study permit once again but need to spend 10k if someone really wanna study.
So I was asking how ppl maintain their status in Canada to put their immigration file.
Might be these answers can be helpful to other ppl on CD.
