hello, i am planning to come to canda in the next year or so. i am from the uk and have heard that the living cost in canda is expensive. i thought it would be cheaper than the uk?
Umm... depends on what you mean by expensive...For me, with the Canadian $ in my pocket, it is surely more expensive in the UK...
If you have a lot of savings then it will surely benefit you..afterall
1GBP > 2.5 CAD $

My budget comes around CAD 29000 for a year
Please add to this Cost of tickets ( from UK u will get charter flights which are quite cheap i guess. Keep track on baggage allowance and excess baggage charges.
Please add to this cost at the time of landing if you dont have family/friends etc ( Hotel/eating out etc ) ex 1000$
Please add to this cost of taking furniture or buying there or a combination of both.
All in all plan around 40000$ which should be your one years forecast till you find a job and add to your savings.....
I do not promise all information may be exact, however will give you indication. Maybe some senior desi can add/correct if i have gone wrong.
Hope helpful

B+ is not just a blood group!
compared to the UK, canada is way cheaper. I think your living costs can come in under 2200/mo if u r single....and that does not include a car. cars are an expensive proposition...esp insurance. but if you live on the subway line, you can maange quite well.
