Hi Charlesjain,
I have been a resident of Malton for four years. You can think of it as South Hall of Toronto. The Pearson International Airport is next door (I think it is in Malton jurisdiction).
Large population of new immigrants, mostly from India and Pakistan, has made Malton its home primarily because of its proximity to the airport, desi atmosphere etc. etc.
You can find more information on the official website:
http://www.mississauga.ca/portal/residents/malton
and private website:

For the start, you can use the word "Malton" in "Search in Charcha". You will find plenty of links that will give you a rough idea.
Can you please tell what kind of your work is your friend looking for? Is the nature of work closely related to industries?

I am a resident of Malton for 7 years now. Love this area ... you see your own people, that keeps your kids close to your culture at home and in school too. Very convenient location (right in the center of Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton) make this place a right choice too. It is served by all three transit system (Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton). If you own the car you can work anywhere in the GTA and won’t be spending too much time in the traffic as this location is only one kilometer away from Highway 427 ( which leads you to 407, 409, 401, QEW, 403, 410, 400 and 404) and almost no crimes.
In addition to this, rent and the cost of houses is also very reasonable. Shops, banks, schools, Doctor’s office, library and HRDC center is within walking distance.
Thanks and regards.
