Hi there. Wondering if someone could give me some info on this.
I have had a couple of really bad experiences with a doctor here in Mississauga amounting to negligence and sheer incompetence. Add to that an attitude that says "You're a piece of sh*t as far as I'm concerned, just give me my 25 bucks and get out of here!" on multiple ocassions.
I've exhausted all feasible means of communicatig effectively with this person and getting them to understand that this is not the way to treat patients. Although I've already changed doctors, I would like to take this matter up with OHIP. People like this should not be allowed to practise. At the very least, they need a reminder that they're not Gods and there's a law above them.
What are my options here (other than sue which I don't intend to do)? Any info or such experiences would be appreciated.

I think the correct forum to take this matter to is the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. All practising doctors are regulated by this body. They also have a disciplining committee that addresses problems like yours. Here is the link.

Go all out and get that dumbass doctor to heel! The bastards!

BL,
Wish you the best for being successful in your drive to take appropriate action againt the doctor. In case you need any help, do let us know and we will do the best to support your case.
Normally we do not encourage anyone writing anything derogatory about any service provider on CD, but knowing you well, and knowing well that you can frame it very nicely, may I suggest you to put up the name of the doctor and quote an incidence that causes this aggravation. It will not be to pass any defamation towards the doctor, but more of relating your own story so that other desis can take a cue and decide for themselves:
1. whether or not to use services of this particular doctor/clinic, and
2. what kind of behaviour/attitude no one should be willing to accept from doctors in general.
My view is that by putting down the name of the docotor and the details of incidence, you will do a good service to the community.

Dear Chandreshji,
Namaskar !
While I do agree that BL has the best of ability to put up a situational detail about the incident(s), but still its my personal opinion that we should avoid naming the Doctor or for that matter any individual in public forums like these.
Garvo had once put forward his concerns about the legalities involved and thus we should restrain from creating such situation. Again its my personal opinion.
We should wait for some time as BL is now seriously considering to approach College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). And he has already agreed to keep us posted on further developments.
In the meanwhile, I do hope that BL will get justice from CPSO.

Manan
You are right Manan - but my opinion was basd on the fact that BL has decided to make a formal complaint to a public body, so it would only be disclosing details of his lodgement of complaint.

Chandresh,
I agree with Manan, disclosing the name exposes CanadianDesi to litigation (however minute that possibility). I don't want to do that.
I will however post everything else I can. I am also thinking about creating a separate section on the forums and calling it "Activism" or something likewise. In this section, we will have users narrate their dissatisfaction at certain services they receive and how they used the system to fight back. And how it all turned out.
I think many a times, we desis tend to let things go thereby letting people off the hook, I've done that myself a few times. Just to avoid the hassle. But this time, I am really ticked and plan to take this all the way.
I'll keep you guys posted, thanks for advice and wishes. Will post more details later.
