HI All,
Again have come to your rescue..
Can you guys help me out .......My question is:
I have landed a month back in canada as an immigrant in independent skilled category. My brother has also applied for immigration around 1.5 years back. Somebody told me that i can send some letter of support to my brother thru which he can get extra 5 points... Is it right???
If yes, from where do i get this letter of support. Just to add to it, i have got a job and am working.
waiting eagerly for your responses,
take care
Sunny
How did your brother apply 1.5 years back if his points were not adding up to the eligibility limit? If he already has that many points, adding extra 5 by showing your sponsorship is not going to make anything any better. AFAIK you just have to qualify. Once you have qualified, does it make any difference how many extra points one has beyond the cut-off limit?

Thanks for your reply wiserman
Actually i just thought if we have an option of increasing his points....then why not. and probably they may process his case early jsut because of that.
Can you pls guide me if u know about this issue.
and ys BTW my brother has enough points to qualify now also.
thanks and regards
Sunny
points may be adjusted to reflect new situation only if the initial assessment has not been done... after that, does not make a difference...
if it has not happened yet in your brother's case, then send him a copy of your pr card/copr document and ask him to forward it to the embassy with a letter that says you are now a permanent resident of canada, and to request that this new information be included in the assessment...
again, if initial assessment has been done, then thats that...
Hi Sunny,
I believe that you should ask your brother to provide information about your PR status in Canada to get the additional 5 points. Although providing this information will not speed up the process but why not increase your points when you have the opportunity.
